The Shire of Arenal is a division of the Kingdom of Meridies in the Society for Creative Anachronism, serving the Pensacola, Milton, Gulf Breeze and Navarre areas of NW Florida. Part of Florida's Emerald Coast--an area known for magnificent, pure-white-sand beaches and Spanish heritage--the name Arenal is based on the Spanish word for "sandy" or "sandy spot". Our device, or "coat of arms", above shows the wreath of a Shire surrounding six blue wings symbolizing the US Navy's Blue Angels, who are based here.
